THE STAKES HAVE NEVER BEEN HIGHER
What was once a collection of burgeoning young golfers looking to have some funs in the mountains has rapidly evolved into the #1 internet golf league. One of the main appeals to this league has been, and always will be, it’s exclusivity. Initially 8, then 8 handpicked horses were tapped to join the race to bring our World Bonesaw Rankings to 16 total players. After the success of the Bonesaw Open, Commissioner Bonesaw pondered, “how can we make it BETTER?”. Initially he thought to make it more inclusive and diverse by expanding the field, but anyone who knows the commish knows this thought left his mind as quick as it arrived.
But after careful deliberation he did come to a conclusion that tickled him with delight. And this, The Clearwater Qualifier was created.
GAUNTLET; DROPPED
You may be asking yourself, “what are these stakes you keep mentioning”. Well let me f*cking tell you buddy; a tour card. That’s right, we are awarding Tour Cards to the top 4 finishers of the Clearwater Qualifier, which confers AUTOMATIC entrance to 2 Majors, new events that will be declared in the winter meetings, and arguably the most coveted recognition in golf… A spot in the Ryder Cup style event against our rival tour, the BGA.

FAQ
Most frequent questions and answers
Based on your handicap you are assigned a “quota”. The higher the quota, the better the player. Your goal is to score as high as you can in relation to your quota, where points are: Bogey = 1, Par = 2, Birdie = 4, Eagle = 8, Albatross = You Win well done
Let’s say you’re a 15 quota. That means if you scored 12 points, your NET score would be (-2). If you were competing against a 12 quota who also scored 12 points, their NET score would be (0) and they would beat you
Players that have played a minimum two (2) rounds will have their quotas determined by the average of their quotas in tournament play. Players that have not met the minimum threshold will have their quotas determined via their current handicap, leading edge AI, a patent-pending algorithm, and the gut instinct of the commish. Often newbies don’t come close to their quota, and the reason is we don’t want sandbaggers to win their first event when we’ve had journeyman scratch and claw their way for years to have a chance at victory.
YES! 2 primarily. 1) NO GIMMES. We must protect the integrity of the field. If that ball doesn’t go in that cup, you don’t get points
2) If a ball is OB we play it like a red stake (stroke and distance) but you must take a drop.
Preferred lies, local rules, and other course specific rulings will be decided by the commish based on what he thinks will give him the best chance to win
“It’s not who is the best golfer; but which golfer had their best day”. This format allows for anyone to compete and by nature of the format means you can’t hurt yourself or go backwards in scoring. Once you have a double bogey pick up and move on. This is also effective for pace of play.
